Giving meaning to life...

Thought this might be a good break from academia... Just 2 lines of thought in learning from different fields of  knowledge and in processing  life experiences that may give meaning to life.

Often, we are tempted to think that our immediate tasks and duties in school are essential and that fulfilling them fully gives meaning to our  lives. In some ways, it is true. On the other hand, each of us may also be looking to root ourselves into something deeper, to sustain us in days when bad or good grades no longer matter as much as a sense of inner well-being and wholeness to take us through difficult times. Many of these issues are bound to grow alongside with us as we mature. It helps to know what they might be and consider them as spiritual anchors to use on life's road. After all, we are more than mere carbon matter trained to perform well in school. Do our intellectual abilities determine everything in us- our identity, personality and aspirations?

It would be sad to numb our capacity to be quiet, to marvel and reflect deeper on what gives deeper meaning to life.

2 sharings here from religion, spirituality (they are not the same) and history-
