Why is the arts subject to regulation in the first place?
Why should societies or governments feel threatened by creative energy and various mediums and modes of self-expression?
No surprise then that many artists here see the need to speak out or seek broader consensus against such polices?
Do these constraints imposed by the State infringe upon artistic freedom and intellectual autonomy?
